Warranty Direct

Recommended Posts

iirc this has been covered with this company b4 seem to think the general opinion on them was quite good but do a search on the forum, seem to remember that if you ring them up and show an interest then ignore them the price comes down by quite a bit, when my warranty runs out im seriously thinking of going down the same route as you,so let us know how you get on

I pay 19 quid a month to the AA, which covers roadside and home recovery it also has a warranty with it that should my motor break down, and it cannot be fixed ie, big problem, they will tow it to a garage and I will be covered for upto a grands worth of work, and I can make 3 claims a year, it was worth having when my engine seized and they paid out 700 quid to have it sorted. my AA cover is about 15 quid a month, the warranty cover is 4 quid a month, do the math over 12 months, its well worth it to me. But thats my opinion.

I have a policy with Warranty Direct. Last year they picked up most of the cost for fixing my auto box. If you take out a policy, watch out for the 90 day wear & tear exclusion. If you have an existing warranty then the 90 day exclusion should be waived, it says so when you get an internet quote but they may put up a fight if you do claim within the first 90 days.

I have a policy on mine with Warranty Direct, just don't forget they will only pay a percentage of part replacement costs as the car gets older and higher mileage. Plus you will need to prove that the vehicle has been serviced at the exact intervals by a VAT registered garage, these need to be the invoices, not just a stamp in the book. Other than that they are very good and have paid out on claims over the past 4 years with mine, including A/C.

MAD any chance of a few more details on your warranty plz, does it cover the air con etc etc?.

Your motor has to be less than 10 years old, and less than 100,000 miles, you must have a good service history! but not sure about that bit, cos my motor that went bang had hardly any and they did not check. I think its only mechanical, like if you are going along and your gear box fell out, they would replace it up to a cost of 1000.00 you pay the first 20 odd quid and the difference should it go over 1000. I dont think it would cover air con, because you can still move your motor should it fail...

How come I can't get the guy from Kwik Fit Insurance - who I don't want to deal with - or the guy trying to sell me a hovel in Bulgaria - who I equally don't want to deal with - off the phone, but the nice lady from Warranty Direct - who I might want to deal with - doesn't call? I'm certainly not going to call her and make myself look keen/enthusiastic/desperate...

hi all

have warranty direct, failed mot on wiper motor and linkage, had to get work done while at mot as i am disabled and need the car for work .....could i still claim after the work has been done.

thanks in advance

did make the claim after the work was done and only got paid for the motor and not the linkage and also only a certain part of the labour cost as they have a set limit of labour cost that they pay.

but other wise well worth it.
